          Research status of the application of petroleum resin compatibility

          Abstract: This paper summarizes the latest research status of petroleum resin compatibility in China in recent years, and introduces the research progress of improving the compatibility of petroleum resins and its application.

          1 Introduction

          Compatibility is generally refers to the compatibility of the polymer in the level or the molecular level of the chain, that is, the 2 components in a certain temperature and the proportion of the formation of a stable homogeneous system. Petroleum resin is a by-product of ethylene plant cracking C5, C9, dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) fraction as raw material, through separation and polymerization of solid or viscous liquid polymers. It is a lot of adhesive, hot melt adhesive, such as essential components of viscosity. Due to the lack of polar groups in its molecular structure, the adhesive properties and poor adhesion, and the application of adhesive, coating and other applications are limited, therefore, it needs to be modified. In general, the new functional groups were introduced into the molecular chain of petroleum resin, which was used to improve the compatibility and water solubility of other polymers.

          2 ways to improve the compatibility of petroleum resins
